I had the pleasure of shooting the lovely and talented Hawley Penfold last week. If you have not heard of Hawley Penfold, you should check out her music video.
This photo shoot was very fun with multiple outfits and professional hair and makeup provided by Cory Taylor Bryant. I did the shoot at The Studio in Denver, Colorado which is a natural light studio, but I decided to shoot these professional studio strobes. To me, natural light is too unpredictable and if the light can’t be controlled I cannot deliver a quality product. I decided on using two different backdrops, a white seamless and a muslin backdrop from Botero. The Botero muslin backdrops are created in Bogota, Columbia and no two are alike.
Hawley was a pleasure to work with and took direction very well. The entire shoot happened within four hours including one hour in hair and makeup. Please check out the following images:
This photo was shot using a 28-inch beauty dish and FujiFilm X-T2 using a Fujinon XF90mmF2 at f/3.6
Also shot using a 28-inch beauty dish and FujiFilm X-T2 using a Fujinon XF90mmF2 at f/2 against a Botero muslin.
Shot using a 28-inch beauty dish and FujiFilm X-T2 using a Fujinon XF56mmF1.2R at f/1.8 against white seamless.
I was really pleased on how these photographs turned out. As you can see the beautiful depth of field effects add mystery and drama to these photos. The lighting also captures the mood and beauty of Hawley flawlessly.
You can view more of Hawley in her gallery. I will publish part two which is the rest of this photo shoot later this week, so if you enjoyed these photos, please come back for more. If you would like me to photograph you please fill out the contact form or call me at 303.630.9230
